How selling your gold works

1. Bring your piece. The original receipt helps but is not required. We buy gold bought anywhere, not just from us.

2. Open testing. We test the purity in front of you and explain the result. No back-room assessments, no jargon.

3. Honest weighing. Stones and non-gold parts are accounted for separately, because you should only be paid, and only pay, for gold.

4. Day-rate payment. You are paid the day rate for the assessed gold content. If the rate moves while you decide, we tell you.

Exchange for something new

Most of our customers do not sell for cash. They exchange. We credit the full assessed gold value of your old piece against a new design, and you pay only the difference plus the making charges on the new piece. Old bangles become a new necklace. A dated set becomes a ring you will actually wear.

What affects the value, honestly

Three things decide what your gold is worth: its purity, itsnet gold weight (stones and fittings excluded), and theday rate. One thing does not count: making charges. They paid for the craftsmanship of the original piece and are never part of buyback value, at any jeweller. We say this plainly because many sellers learn it too late, standing at a counter. You deserve to know before you walk in.

Frequently asked questions

Do you buy old gold jewellery?

Yes. Bring the piece, with its receipt if you have it. We test purity openly, weigh it, and pay the day rate for its gold content.

Are making charges deducted when I sell gold?

Making charges are never part of buyback value at any jeweller, because they paid for craftsmanship, not metal. You are paid for the gold content at the day rate, and we explain this before you decide.

Can I exchange old jewellery for a new design?

Yes. Your old piece is assessed and its full gold value is credited against the new purchase. You pay only the difference plus making on the new piece.

Do I need the original receipt?

It helps, especially for pieces bought elsewhere, but it is not required. The purity test and weighing are what determine value.
